Madrid (* French
polish * $5,800)
This instrument, named after the Ramirez
"sch-
ool" of guitarmaking in Madrid, is the
first of the
series offering some of the finest
materials and
workmanship of any guitars in
their class.
Quality of sound is well balanced,
with very go-
od projection, clarity and
elegance. Detailing is
simple but clean and well
executed. For this
style, we consider this guitar to
be one of the
best values on the world market
today. |

Concierto
(* French polish
* $7,200)
This model utilizes even finer materials,
with w-
ellquartersawn Brazilian rosewood
and exquisi-
te German spruce or Canadian cedar
soundbo-
ard. The detailing is even more
precise than the
Madrid model above, with hand
inlaid purfling
and resette. As above, finish is
French polish
and very well done. It has clear,
singing trebles
and rich, robust basses with great
sustain.
One of the most beautiful sounding
and looking
concert guitars available. |

Maestro
(* French polish
* $8,200)
Not to leave anything undone, every
detail on
this guitar is absolutely
gorgeous, from the pur-
fling to the rosette, to the
choice of materials a-
nd finish. The quality of this
instrument is exce-
ptional by any standard or period
of history.
The style is still from the Madrid
school but also
very influenced by Paulino Bernabe.
It has im-
pressive volume, which could
project well in
nearly any size hall, and great
elegance of tone
two characteristics that often
don't go together.
On this, as on the other two
models, the neck is
very comfortable, making this
guitar a joy to play. |
